I received my Biology BSc from the University of Saskatchewan and my PhD in microbiology from the University of Calgary (Department of Biological Sciences). I worked as a bioinformatics scientist in industry for a few years before returning to academia – first at York University, and now at the University of Windsor. I work and live on the traditional territory of the Three Fires Confederacy of First Nations, which includes the Ojibwa, the Odawa, and the Potawatomie. I recognize and respect Indigenous Peoples as traditional stewards of this land, and the enduring relationship that exists between Indigenous Peoples and their traditional territories.
